Description

This module considers what makes a child “in need” of services and support. Our aim is to enable the wishes and feelings of children in need to be heard and considered in decision-making. We consider the assessment process and the legal duties of the local authority. We evaluate ways to ensure the process is child-centred and that children and families have a voice.

By the end of the module you should be able to:

  • Define what makes a child “in need”

  • Identify the role of Children’s Services in assessment

  • Explain how to support children in this process to ensure their wishes and feelings are heard.

The blended learning module includes a five hour group training and supporting e-learning resources. See our calendar for the next open course date, or book us to come and run the course for your team or group.

If you are an individual enrolling for a private group training, you should have a coupon code to enable you to enrol for free. Please contact your group organiser if you haven’t got the code. Your group organiser will let you know your training date and venue.
