Our E-learning Programme

Just like our group learning programme, we aim to provide you with an engaging learning experience that has the convenience and good value of being completed in your own time, at your own pace and from wherever you can access the internet. We will enrol you in an e-learning group with other people completing the module and your module tutor. This gives you an additional opportunity to engage with others to share ideas, experience and perspectives. It is a virtual space for discussion, learning and considering questions raised by the module. Many modules include an optional live webinar, video stream or podcast. We encourage you to engage with other learners to extend your learning and gain full advantage from the course, but it is not required for assessment.

Our modules are divided into UNITS, which are made up of different ACTIVITIES. Each unit contains core elements:

LEARN: presentations, reading and activities that cover the core learning of the module.

DEMONSTRATE: assessment and evidence-gathering activities that demonstrate your knowledge and competence and help to embed your learning.

Other optional elements are suggestions to support and extend your learning:

THINK: questions for you to reflect on, to stimulate ideas and stretch your knowledge.

ENGAGE: suggestions for activities to engage with the learning group and your tutor, to extend your learning and benefit from being part of a learning community.

RESEARCH: additional reading and research to extend your learning and fill gaps in your knowledge and experience. Suggestions for opening further research in your practice or beyond the course.

APPLY: Suggestions for professionals and carers about practical application in your practice.

Assessment

There are a number of activities and assessments that you are required to attempt as part of the module. You need submit all the tasks and to pass the final assessment to successfully complete the course and gain your module certificate.

A list of all necessary Materials and Assessments is provided with each module unit, either on the Module Resources page through a link in the unit or activity.
