Care Matters

Care Matters aims to equip workers and service users across public care services with the skills and knowledge to work effectively together to achieve the best outcomes.

Who is it for?

  • workers who support children, young people and vulnerable adults in the health, social care, education and justice service sectors in both statutory and voluntary roles
  • service users who want to be better informed and more involved in their own care and development.

What does it include?

Core skills include person-centred practice, communication skills, safeguarding, equality and diversity, advocacy and children’s rights, children in need, resolving complaints and participation.

Specialist areas include mediation, secure accommodation reviews, child protection meetings, family group conferences, pathway planning for careleavers, non-instructed advocacy, effective co-production and supporting transitions.
